Destinations Caribbean

Colombia’s coast on the Caribbean Sea is 1,600 kilometers long and offers a wide range of attractions. It contains a vast range of eco systems, palm fringed coastlines, mangroves, superb historic cities (World Cultural Heritage Sites, Cartagena and Mompox), natural parks, and resort style family friendly locations.

Approximately an hour from Cartagena by boat, the Rosario archipelago, the San Bernardo archipelago, and the island of Barú are enchanting sea locations with fine, white sand and delightful underwater gardens. They are marvelous spots for lovers of sun, beach, and relaxation.

Parque Nacional Natural Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo is one of 46 national parks in Colombia and was created to protect one of the most important coral reefs of the Colombian Caribbean coast. Three eco-systems prevail : coastal lagoons, the mangroves around them and tropical forests. The Mocana Indians of the Karib family were the first inhabitants in pre Columbian times and lived mainly of fishing and picking mollusks. Today, the islands are an exclusive destination for ecotourism.

Relaxing on white sand beaches, scuba diving in amazing coral reefs, dancing to the beat of salsa, vallenato, champeta and reggaetón, enjoying a local rhum or an exotic fruit juice - or maybe just strolling on the ramparts of a charming colonial city… you will love this colorful and traveller friendly destination in Colombia !
